Furniture made in Jepara, to your drawings.
Jepara has thousands of furniture workshops, and the hard part is knowing which ones to trust. We vet them, place your order with the right one, check the work and ship it to you. You deal with one company, in English.

Who we work with
Interior designers and architects
Send a drawing. We find the workshop that does that kind of work well, and manage it through to delivery.
Hotels, restaurants and cafés
Repeat pieces in quantity, made to one standard: room furniture, dining chairs and tables, outdoor teak.
Furniture retailers and private label
Your designs, your brand, made in Jepara. See the private label page for how a first order works.
A single piece for a home
We still take one-off commissions. Shipping one piece costs more per item, so we quote that upfront.
What we check before anything ships
These are the conditions a workshop has to meet to make furniture for our buyers.
- Timber legality
- The workshop or its exporter holds an SVLK (V-Legal) licence. Without it the wood cannot leave Indonesia legally, and US buyers need it for the Lacey Act declaration.
- Drying
- Wood is kiln-dried and checked with a moisture meter before it is cut. Wet teak cracks once it reaches a dry, air-conditioned room.
- Inspection
- Every order is checked in Jepara against the drawing and the approved sample before it is packed. You get photos and video before it ships.
- Packing and papers
- Export packing, fumigation and the certificates your country asks for, arranged with the shipment.

Inspection and shipping
Checked, packed and shipped from Semarang, as a shared container or a full one.
Where we ship
Everything leaves from Semarang by sea, in a shared container for smaller orders or a full one for larger orders. What changes by country is the paperwork.
- United States
- Wood furniture needs a Lacey Act declaration naming the species and where it was harvested. Import duty is quoted as its own line, at the rate in force when you order.
- Singapore
- A short sea route from Semarang. Delivery to your door or warehouse can be included in the quote.
- Australia
- Biosecurity rules are strict: no bark, no insects, and usually a fumigation or heat-treatment certificate, for the packing as well as the furniture.
- Europe and the UK
- Importers have to show the timber is legal. Indonesian V-Legal documents (FLEGT licences) cover much of this. We confirm the current rules with your importer before you order.
- Elsewhere
- Ask us. We will get a freight quote and check the import rules first, before we quote the furniture.
Why Jepara
Jepara has been a woodcarving town for centuries, and furniture is still its main trade: sawmills, carvers, joiners and finishers, often on the same street. That depth is why you can get almost anything made here, and why choosing the workshop matters so much.
